The 2 Minute Body Posture That Can Increase Your Chance of Success

by Steven Hourston on October 12, 2012

Watch Amy Cuddy’s fascinating TED talk:  Your body language shapes who you are.

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” – standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident – can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

Could this make a difference in your next business meeting, sales presentation, interview or when you serve your next customer? Give it a go and see.

Notice how her audience responds to her vulnerability when she shares a story 16 minutes in (for more on vulnerability watch “The Power of Vulnerability“).
